Community Capacity Building

Meeting the needs of families means building communities that are vital, supportive, and productive.

This is why, since its inception, CH/SFSC has leveraged its direct services resources to develop forums and networks for its partners to grow and strengthen their capacity.

CH/SFSC oversees a number of local and federal funding streams, in our role as a community capacity-building agency and fiscal agent.

Through these grants, we coordinate capacity-building, organizational development workshops, and community advisory committees.

In 2010, CH/SFSC launched Strengthening Ward One Together, also known as SWOT, to bring together stakeholders in the Ward 1 community in a more formal manner. Monthly meetings provide community-based organizations, residents and agency representatives the space to work together, develop collaborative efforts and strategies, and ultimately make more efficient use of resources.
