The Columbia Heights/Shaw Family Support Collaborative (CH/SFSC) works to protect and build healthy children, families, and communities in Washington, DC.

We offer comprehensive bilingual support services to families in need, and trainings to community residents and professionals. We also work to establish public policies to promote the strength of the families in our community.

We aim to prevent child abuse and neglect and other community violence, by:

• Strengthening families
• Responding to, and preventing, youth violence
• Fostering a strong workforce
• Building quality neighborhood services
• Training residents and service providers

We build community through leadership development at the neighborhood level, by:

• Creating and maintaining community-led support networks
• Convening public forums on child abuse and neglect
• Disseminating information on family support issues
• Providing training in parenting, community organizing, family support and outreach community-based referrals and neighborhood-based foster care
